Thanos is not even close to being on the left. he's more like an eco-fascist
certainly most don't. based on your Thanos comment, you don't seem to be an exception.
it's actually pretty tenuous as to whether or not he's even on the left aren't. he and some others like him use "democratic socialism" to describe their politics but they're not actual socialists -- they want Nordic-style Social Democracy, which is capitalism with some safety nets.
"democratic socialists" are people who believe that socialism (actual socialism, not social democracy) can be achieved through electoral politics. they're wrong, but that is what they believe.
while "demsoc" and "socdem" are effectively the same thing in practice, they are somewhat distinct in theory.
europe is not socialist. they have capitalism with some social programs.
