Now this topic is really getting interesting. Oo

Doing some basic research, apparently it's mostly a harmless placebo:
https://community.aafa.org/blog/aafa-explains-is-therapy-safe-and-effective-for-asthma
Halotherapy, or sitting in a salt room, is not likely to make your asthma better. For most asthma patients, halotherapy is likely safe. Since you don't know how you will react, AAFA warns that it is best to err on the side of caution and avoid salt rooms.

But, actually, I just found a scientific paper that there /is/ some benefit to it:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4391365/
The assessment of results achieved in the investigated patients with bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis and chronic obstructive bronchopneumopathy, after a specific halotherapy treatment, indicates the triggering of an anti-inflammatory (including anti-allergic mechanisms) mechanism and a decreasing trend of the inflammatory process.

It's one of those "maybe, maybe not, it's possible it helps" it seems, which is why I'm curious about it.
