Doing one of those swabs properly involves shoving it waaaaay further up into the nose than most people are going to be comfortable with; there's pretty much no way they're going to get meaningful test results unless they have a trained person deciding when it's gone deep enough. Yeah and the person administering the instructions literally just said to swirl it in my nostril.
