Jones problem was that for whatever reason, his Two-Face was trying to keep up with Carrey, which is impossible and should never be tried. Carrey's typical acting style is to be bombastic and over-the-top; you would have needed a cold, calculating Two-Face to offset that.

I think the largest problem is that they were trying to go very lighthearted to offset Batman Returns, so no matter what they want it to be goofier.

Jim Carrey is a talentless unfunny ass that only rears his face in the worst movies that aim for a solid C-. Of course it's bad.

Wow. Oo

And here I thought I was critical of Jim Carrey. idk, the only major problem I had with Carrey in Returns was him going overboard with the mugging, particularly during the first brain drain sequence. I remembered it being bad, but forgot exactly how bad it was until I saw the NC review for the film.

In general, Jim Carrey has had a spotty career. He had a lot of decent performances early on then started taking some questionable roles which I imagine hampered his career. (It actually reminds me I still have to watch Man on the Moon, which looked pretty good. Also, going over his wikipedia page, I was surprised to learn he starred in Once Bitten, since I saw that some years ago and don't think I realized that was Carrey. Looking at the movie poster now, I do kinda do recognize him a little.)

Also, I was surprised to learn he's only 58. He looks terrible.
