Fluoride mouthwashes have a lower concentration of fluoride than toothpastes so all you're doing is washing that away. Also do not rinse your toothpaste, just spit the excess. Regarding the thread topic, it does not matter which way you do it. If you are going t o brush after eating, wait at least 30 minutes (even this may not be enough) so you don't abrade the softened enamel away.
