Look at ALBW, the first game that came out after the timeline was released. Ganon was dead at the end of ALttP, and ALBW only takes place around 200 years later. But Ganon is sealed instead of dead, because the story they came up with works better that way. It's something they can lean on and reference when making the story, which happens as they create the gameplay. It has --- My sister's dog bit a hole in my Super Mario Land cartridge.
