Not drinking or smoking doesn't make you socially awkward. If you write it off on something like that you're just putting an obstacle in-between you and the information that could actually help. Sure when you drink you become more social and less anxious, but it's used as a crutch for those that can't normally be social sober. A crutch that ends up just making it all worse in the long run. But there are tons of people who live highly social lives sober. It's ridiculous to think otherwise or that that's where the divide comes from.
