With something so innocuous, there should be no particular reason it should impact anything. Unless the guy's like a video game addict who promised to stop or they're in absolute poverty, she's the weird one in the scenario.

But he didn't say to look into the "why" outside of surface level reasons. He just said he doesn't care what the wife thinks. If you can't see how damaging that is to a marriage, you're gonna fail at all relationships. Not caring what someone thinks is a clear sign you don't respect the person. You should make sure you respect somebody before you get married to them. There's no respect behind telling someone to "get fucked".
