ok, i watched this video and... i don't think it's that problematic? dore is essentially saying that trump bases a lot of his policy on what people he likes and respects are saying. this is true, we've seen plenty of examples of it: tucker, ivanka, kim kardashian. so when tucker manages to say something that's not idiotic for once ("a US conflict with iran would be dumb"), that actually has a positive outcome. yeah, i agree that the title is silly and overly simplistic - there was probably a lot more to this than just "tucker stops war with iran" - but i'm kinda used to youtube video titles being bad so i can't get too mad over this.

i actually think my main issue with what dore is saying is "there's two republican parties." that's also overly simplistic. i get that he wants to make the point that both main parties in the US suck - and they do. but there's still fundamental differences between the repubs and the dems.

also, i don't get wtf he's talking about at the end when he's going "youtube is not banning the new york times channel but WE'RE the dangerous ones!" uh, they're not banning your channel either? don't become one of those "i'm on youtube complaining about how youtube is silencing me" people, dude. that's dumb.

but yeah, overall, i don't think this is a great example of dore being terrible. the "promoting the seth rich conspiracy theory" thing was a lot worse!

Whoa dude my bad. I was linking the video for the title alone - should have made it clear I didn't even watch the thing (as a former subscriber I've seen enough Dore to know what I'm getting). If I saw your reply saying you were going to watch it, I'd have let you known not to waste your time since I wasn't even adressing anything about the content itself.

Obviously the content itself is more important than the title so let's get to this

This is Dore's and fellow grifters literal entire shtick. "God doesn't it suck that we have two right wing political parties, but hey let me go after the Dems in 95% of my videos and let the cartoon villain Republicans off the hook because Republicans gonna Republican." When you do this with your content, you create the impression that most evil in the government is coming from the Democratic side, hence why his audience is mostly right-wingers now.

I know Kyle Kulinski is still friends with him, but he's an example of someone whose content is far more balanced and is actually presenting a left perspective rather than a black pilled, "fuck all electoral politics, it's pointless" one that Dore has embraced.

Now if you want me to find some terrible Dore videos, I can do that too! I'd rather not waste my time on him, but I watched his reaction to Colbert on Trump not conceding which I'd argue is one of those terrible ones. Even though I agree with him that much of our politics is merely performative with a system that results in super corporate-friendly politicians "pre-approved" so to speak by said corporations, Dore basically just laughs off literal fascism in that video as a supposed leftist. Not a good look and it was viscerally upsetting to me.
