In my experience when a game gets a lot of criticism for being buggy before launch it remains buggy even after the initial patch. Several cases come to mind where it took weeks for glaring issues to be resolved. I'm having a hard time thinking of any titles that got flak for bugs before launch but played just fine on release day. --- And with that...pow!
