I go back and forth on whether or not I want kids.

Years ago, I definitely wanted them, but I also believed that I would be further along in my life than I am now, so many things got reevaluated. The idea of having a kid is somewhat appealing, but at the same time, they are expensive, stressful, and time-sinks. I 100% value my alone time, and having a kid would basically drain all of my free time.

There's also the fact that I feel that the world is about to capsize on its current course, and it's going to be the next two generations who are going to have to deal with the problems that were set in motion by the Baby Boomers. I don't want to bring a child into that; it's bad enough that my nephew will have to deal with it when he gets older.

I often wonder if we are growing as a people... or in fact, regressing.
