Polygon knew what they were getting into when they hired the writer, there was presumably an editor involved... obviously she wrote something the publication was comfortable with. How is performing the task you were hired to do in any way unprofessional? Theres an audience for that type of criticism. Some people want game reviews to be basically a product review like youd do for a toaster, and other people want game reviews to be more critical examinations of a game as a piece of art. These two things provide different value to different people and theres no reason they cant coexist. I dont understand why you (or anyone) have a problem with different ways of looking at games.
