Whats crazy is that California has had some of the strictest lockdowns out of any state since this started and despite all that their numbers are worse than other big states like Texas and Florida who have been relatively open for business. Really begs to question just how effective are these lockdowns when they really havent shown to decrease the numbers. All I see them doing is killing off small businesses while padding the pockets of the giant corporations and not necessarily keeping anyone safer.
There's a ton of non-compliant red counties. California is big.

San Francisco handled this really well compared to other major cities because we actually followed the rules for the most part, lowest per capita of other US major cities

course we're surging, but we're much lower per capita still than the rest of California or the US

that said, we really need a federal stimulus package
