Speaking of testosterone, this was our second match in a row featuring four shit-kicking badasses. And before you tell me Sonic isn't badass, you are wrong. Save it.

I take back what I said about the Division 6 final. This was the most boring match of the round, because the result of Sephiroth > Sonic was a literal 100% guarantee. Sonic was never going to challenge for first place here -- Cloud showed us how far ahead of Sonic the FF7 gang is back in 2003 -- and thanks to Auron sharing the poll with Sephiroth, he was not going to be able to follow up his round 2 upset of Sonic with a sequel. Thanks for being a good format, 4ways. You suck.

No one knew it at the time, but this result helped set up one of strangest upsets we've ever had in contest lore. Too bad 2008 has kind of been lost in the memory hole (thanks 4ways, you suck), or else Sonic's awful showing this year would be mentioned along the likes of Donkey Kong and Magus. More on that when we get to it.

As for a round synopsis, it was pretty decent! We had a Noble Nine character get upset, two really fun matches involving joke characters, the fever pitch of ZackFAQs, Mega Man X annihilating fools, Crono and Vincent on a collision course, and my favorite Pokemon balling out of control. As much as I despise the format, the results have been fun enough to keep me interested in writing these things. Moving on.
