You'll quickly learn that, when it comes to local politics, it's much less about political party and much more about who the dumbass is that tanked a five-year negotiation over a contract because they didn't like that someone went in and ran spell check on it. No joke; that actually happened. There's also gems like this one guy decided to bully the recording secretary because he wanted a transcript and not a set of minutes. So he gets pissy and started chewing her out right in front of everyone on the zoom meeting for 'lack of detail' (the set of minutes was much more detailed already than normal). Turns out he was trying to impress the mayor by showing he was effective and doing his job but didn't realize that the recording secretary also handled the mayors meetings and immediately told on him which did NOT end well for him.
