I only use shampoo, soap just covers you with that nasty flaky stuff. But if I don't use the shampoo I'll feel gross and get dandruff, so shampoo can't be all that bad.

I use /r/curlygirl method and co-wash ("shampoo" with conditioner, not shampoo, specifically a kind of thinner cheaper conditioner since you use a lot). Don't even need shampoo! (but to start you need to use a clarifying shampoo to get all the silicons out of your hair and make sure you don't use any product that has that or other things in it, since that won't be washed out with conditioner).

edit: I use soap on my body tho never heard of people being against that
