Technically you could get in trouble there, but you'd need the recipient to report you.

tbh, there have been countless times where I've been suspended for quoting somebody while their post never got deleted.

I should imagine that it's against the site's TOS regardless. They don't want it done either way.

Same with certain words. I got modded for saying a word that gets said quote often. But not everyone does. And it's because it depends on if someone reports it.

Even if they do get marked, some people just never get modded. There's zero consistency with this site because it's largely up to the reviewing mod and, it often seems, how much they like or dislike whoever's post they're looking at.

so technically you could ask, and then get, a porn link pmed to you, then you could report it and get the sender modded.

Which actually gives it a secondary practical reason for it to be against the rules.
