I found out because he told me that he had sex with her, but wasn't sure if they should tell their partners. I'm good friends with both of their partners, so I told him that they needed to tell their partners or I would. Then when he found out that his girlfriend cheated, the boyfriend came to my place to vent. I learned that they were inebriated on shrooms, she was dissociating (look it up if you don't know what it is) beforehand and she had 6 hours of sleep over the previous 2 days.

I talked to my wife about it, and we came to the conclusion that it sounds like she was at least taken advantage of (my wife has a previous history of sexual abuse, so it sounded familiar to her). So we called the boyfriend up because I was worried he may be under the impression she made conscious decisions to cheat on him). He was with his girlfriend, so he put us on speaker, and my wife basically told her she was at least taken advantage of. Then it comes out that the guy didn't ask for any kind of consent, waived off her concerns, pushed her over, took her clothes off, and did it 4 times over the next like 6 hours. We heard the story of how she was raped. The worst part was when she had fully come to terms with what happened, she asked "So what happens now?". None of us had a good answer for her.

I've been a wreck since figuring all of this out. I've bawled on and off thinking about her experience and I just feel shell shocked. I also feel an incredible anger inside of me about the guy. I had considered him a really good friend of mine. I'm going to make sure he's at least ex-communicated by every mutual friend we have.
