There are strange forces at work in situations like that. It does seem to work, but is it happening because you complained, did you go to complain because things were about to improve, or does it just seem like it works because you gave yourself some time away? Hardly the first story like this I've heard, but whether its psychological, metaphysical, or whatever else, no one can really say for sure. If something's bothering you, even if it's insignificant and irrelevant to anybody but yourself, sometimes it really does help to get it off your chest.
