So two days in and now I definitely know I can't use a laser pointer for now as a toy because she gets paranoid af when it disappears and I don't want to endlessly tease her when she paws it and nothing happens. I tried leading her to a scratching post and a couple toys with it but she ignores it and continues looking for the laser pointer. Too many unknowns for her right now

But you guys were right. She's back on her mat now and I didn't even have to beg or bribe her to come out. Made a mistake though because I only wanted to come back up and refill her kibble and then let her sleep uninterrupted, but now I don't want her to go into hiding again so I'm stuck in the office streaming the super awkward Heisman ceremony instead of watching it while eating dinner myself >_>

I remember someone (maybe here on CE) saying that laser pointers can actually have harmful long term effects since the cat can't actually interact with the object - I got a stick/string thing that I can entice the kittens with but also put away so they see it is still there.

As for not being able to move because of a sleeping cat... welcome to the world of being a cat servant :P
