This in turn led to the rise of powerful right wing propaganda news outlets dominating the media sphere in the 60s and 70s and finally the point of no return, electing Ronald Reagan as president. The decades since of media brainwashing and conservatives dismantling government institutions has lead to where we are today, on the verge of a civil war.
