Its kinda actually why we have a system multiple branches of government and such. But people have a predisposition to start fearing the worst outcomes of if any part of that system gets too strong. And hey, that is built into our original system too, with checks and balances, and having the active formal military mostly outside the internal leadership roles (that is in part due to the military being a bit of a later add-on after it soon turned out that militia is not enough to protect a nation, but the point is that at that time they still limited how much the military is part of the government). . --- I am the Hunter of Topics.
