This argument just never holds up. The Rock was WWE champ in 98. Cherry picking that he isnt black enough is ridiculous. But even if you want to play that game, there were a few black WHCs in the mid 2000s. That title main evented over the WWE title many times, and WWE themselves will NEVER acknowledge that it is a tier below the WWE title, or else it would affect their golden boys John Cena, Triple H, Edge, and Randy Orton, all of which are either the record world title holder, or near it. So the WHC counts.

Even if you dont want to count the WHC, Kofi won it at Wrestlemania.

Whether you want to ignore people like the Rock, Booker T, and Mark Henry, the claim that WWE has never had a black WWE champion is a blatant lie in 2020, and even before Kofis reign, it was already one of the more obnoxiously cherrypicked stats by detractors. Lmfao imagine relegating accomplishments by whether or not you think someone is black enough. Thats racist as shit.

Also, Id just like to point out that while Vince is a carny old racist, he definitely tries hard to cover it up whenever he can lol. Hes promoted tons of latino wrestlers, having their first Puerto Rican champion back in the 70s, and the New Day, a team comprised of a black wrestlers, has become perhaps the greatest (most accomplished) tag teams in history. I dont think the fact that there wasnt a black WWE champ between the Rock and Kofi was a conscious decision, considering how many minorities he made champion in that same time period (Eddie Guerrero, Batista, Rey Mysterio, Alberto Del Rio, Jinder Mahal, among others).
