i think there's some way to cheese Magic Master's last attack (besides casting reraise), like I want to say that you can just get him to use up all his mp or drain it from him and then it fails when he tries to cast it... but I'm not sure since it's been a while since I played it and I might actually be thinking of another boss/game.

I think that once you get Leviathan, you've got pretty much everything that you can get done before the final dungeon (maybe one more that was added to the gba version, dunno if you can get it now or if it's too hard to beat since I haven't played the gba version). Well, I might be mistaken and you might have missed some minor espers from the original too that I didn't notice when skimming over your posts but I think you're mainly just missing one esper from the original game and three that were added to the gba version including Leviathan.
