The Godfather Crime movies aren't my preferred genre, but the script, production values, acting etc. was of the highest caliber. I can appreciate and respect that. The Searchers John Wayne is an "anti-hero" because he's kind of a jerk, and he's gonna kill his niece because she was abducted by "indians" (white actors oiled to be a bit more borwn). Then, after years of ceaseless pursuing, he does a shocking swerve at the last moment because... the plot demands it? Yeah, it was an okay western. 2001: A Space Odyssey This is the pinnacle of sci-fi.
