The Government has unveiled a $12.1 billion support package for the New Zealand economy, with almost half of the cash to be spent on a wage subsidy package for all coronavirus-impacted businesses.

Those full-time workers eligible for the package will receive $585 per week from the Government, paid in a lump sum package of just over $7000 covering a 12-week period.

The Government is also raising benefits by $25 a week, starting April 1, and doubling the Winter Energy Payment.

Overview: The program helps businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19 receive wage subsidies so they can keep paying their staff and maintain an employment connection. Full-time workers from eligible businesses will receive $585.80 per week while part-time workers will receive $350 per week until 30 June 2020.

Who is eligible? Businesses that have more than a 30% decline in revenue, actual or predicted, compared to last year, due to COVID-19.

I don't see why people have to lie about this, he has a point that America should have paid more to workers, but his point is totally lost because his tweet is just a lie.
