Someone who'll be released in 2022 could've voted in the 2020 election, but not someone who'll be released in 2026.) Maybe even "only if they'll finish it before the result takes effect". Not sure. (So in this case, someone who would be released before January 20th 2021 could've voted in the 2020 election.) --- You're causing some tension, it got their attention, there's no need to mention Baby that your trousers just fell down ...
