Maybe it's because I personally have no personal attachment to the Steve Rogers character and his portrayal - I mean, I do like what this movie did with him a lot, but that goes for most of the characters in the MCU. Some of the period stuff is cute. The third act of this movie is the worst of any of the movies imo though, including Thor 2. Cap 1 is right in that portion of the list (for me, at least) where the movies start to actually get good, but it's still a bit slow and forgettable.
