There is no bottom. If you think something is too stupid to happen, it will. The planet is still dying. Healthcare is still bankrupting people. Millions are still in poverty. The rich and powerful still can do whatever they want without accountability At some point you need to get proactive and fix now instead of hoping for theoretical future where Republicans never hold office ever again and you have all the time in the world.
