The reason imo MCU quippiness is generally a problem to people is it's done at inappropriate times that should be high tension or with characters that shouldn't be making jokes. You don't see Stark joking with Obidiah much at all for example

oh yeah, if their approach is "i like the jokes but they should just be made at appropriate times," i get it. iron man does work better than, say, age of ultron in that regard (or even homecoming imo).

for me, the problem with MCU humor is that i often just don't think the jokes are funny. like, that tony/pepper exchange isn't amusing in the least for me. i assume that's also eddv's problem, hence why he ranked this movie so low.
