I will say, before closing this very gross and lumpy chapter of Danganronpa character rankings, that Hifumi manages to rank above everyone else listed so far because there are a couple of things I dont completely hate about him. Like I said, he long overstayed his welcome but if he was a chapter one victim then maybe his weird nerdy outbursts wouldnt have been as grating. And, more importantly, the first time I played chapter 3 and got to that image with him being assaulted by Voltron, I did literally laugh out loud. It is just such a weird, unexpected picture and the comedic timing of it is great because of how Celeste is building it up to you. So to see Hifumi struggling against Optimus Prime with this panicked look on his face was so fucking weird that I did audibly laugh. And then, when watching the playthrough of the first game, I laughed again. So he has one shining moment in his entire miserable existence, and thats at least worth something. Of course, it is part of perhaps the stupidest plot in Danganronpa history and ultimately leads to his death, so maybe I dont want to give him too much credit on that one.
