Yeah if we're talking in terms of video games, it's honestly not even close. Terraria is an actual massive adventure with a constantly evolving world. Minecraft added Terraria-esque things over time, but comparatively it's maybe like half of the variety Terraria offers.

In terms of creative outlets, yeah Terraria is honestly kinda limited. There are Terraria mods too, and anybody who can keep a consistent fortress pvp server going will probably have a mindnumbingly fun time. But Minecraft will probably eclipse Terraria in this regard.

Also there are just more people trying to build on top of a flimsy base that is Minecraft, so it's bound to eventually reach Terraria levels of gameplay with enough mods added, but I think it also suffers from a very inflexible base that limits the fun of the battle. Terraria literally lets you do anything in terms of combat, and Minecraft also comes with some catch whenever you want to do anything. They also semi-nerfed arrows over time, which imo made it less fun. There's only so much a mod can do to fix something that's within the core gameplay without causing some jank
