My guess is he planned the trip well before the state completely lost powerI was giving you the benefit of the doubt before that you were simply pointing out that this only blew up because of how catastrophic Texas's power grid problems were and that no one would care if it was just a snowstorm that didn't cause any really major disruptions but this is just a really bad take IMO. Even if Cruz planned this trip well in advance - when your job is literally to represent the interests and concerns of your constituents... you cancel that trip when it turns out people across your state are losing power and having their pipes burst. Like the one thing you can not do in this situation is go on vacation.
