He should have because it's the right thing to do but I'm pretty sure his promise was to stop the draconian policies Trump, Sessions, Miller, etc. put in and pursue immigration reform. On literal Day 1 he issued an order to pause all deportations. Texas immediately sued to get that order thrown out and a federal judge did that. Since he apparently can't halt them that directly he instead started issuing orders to ICE to only focus on actual violent criminals. I'm not going to claim that more can't be done, I'm sure there's always more that can be done and it's fine and right to push for that to be done... but I really don't think this is Biden breaking a promise. He seems to be sticking to this one as best he can so far. His promise didn't go far enough IMO, but that's a separate issue. Like, he is fighting ICE here with his orders to redefine their scope and what they should be doing. There have been articles written from anonymous ICE officials who were "distraught" that his orders would "abolish ICE without abolishing ICE." I don't think that's enough and he should actually abolish it but I don't think it's accurate to say he just walked away on this. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? ...
