I feel like any publicity is good publicity if you're someone like Ted Cruz. There are tens of no name senators who are no doubt just as ghoulish as him, but he just seems like the worst. To republicans though, I bet he'd do fairly well again running for president because he's working on his reputation as "guy who makes the libs mad". Plus I think he was already the (distant) runner up in 2016 in the primary but not really sure
