Topic | Generally speaking, the person who DMs swaps in DND, right? |
streamofthesky 03/13/21 6:38:42 PM #7: | In my experience, being a DM sucks and no one wants to do it. Yes, everyone should take a turn bearing the burden. But obviously, people will try to evade it if they can. The last time I "played" D&D ended over 3 years ago. I had just finished DMing a 5 year long campaign. Obviously was burned out, asked the group if anyone else would DM a new game. You can tell from the prior sentence how that turned out. :p Sounds like you're describing the opposite problem, where yeah, someone can be a control freak and never want to relinquish that "power" to someone else. Those DMs are usually best avoided anyway. I mean...to a tiny extent I can understand it... I really like my houserules and feel they made martials more viable compared to casters, and I kinda poisoned myself to ever "going back" to a game w/o such changes (I prefer playing martials, even though they're much weaker than casters in 3E/PF). My hope was the group I had would like my rules (they did!) and then in turn run their own games w/ similar rules that I could play in... ... Copied to Clipboard! |
