That was actually kind of funny in a way. Like, I always saw / see more introverted people getting shit on for being that way.

But, good god, I still cant believe how absolutely unable to handle having to stay in the more extroverted people were.

The pandemic could have been a good lesson in learning how to entertain yourself when going out isnt an option... but Im sure rather than trying to learn or make the best of it, its easier or more fun to just act like its the end of the world.

Weird flex, but I guess Im lucky in that Im happy with both staying in or going out \_()_/

It'd be more funny if there weren't a bunch of CEOs and management who they get in the ear of with this "let's return to the office" nonsense.

Like, if there was actually a scenario that played out in such a way that these people could go back to an office if they want to so bad but anyone who doesn't want to can stay home and work...that'd be great.

But corporation rarely make rules like that...mostly likely because some are wanting to go back they make us ALL go back. I mean...if it's what the company/CEO/shareholders want to do it's going to happen. Us being more productive at home or not won't matter.... they'll do it and find some rando stat to justify doing it, because there's enough of these other types who want it so bad for no good reason...and since they'll have the backing of all these types of employees the general corporate culture will probably be that it's a negative thing if you even bring up how things worked just fine for you at home.

That's a possibility, though looking around and reading about it more...it seems the support for just staying at home and working remotely is definitely out there as well. I guess even the corporate culture swaying towards everyone coming back can't really solve the issue of "what if all of these people who liked at home work and did good with it just go somewhere else that offers remote work when we stop doing it?". Chances are they are all the best, most efficient workers anyway (after all...they want to work, not go and form social cliqs after an hour commute) so that loss is hopefully too devastating for a company to bear and they see sense?

Even if not...I have noticed a huge increase of fully remote postings (at least, for GIS developers/analysts and probably other tech jobs). If some companies just won't accept a remote working environment I have to believe enough others will. I've already started applying for these early just to be ready in case they do try to send us all back...maybe the best scenario is just that some companies accept that remote working is the new way to go...and others stay behind and keep doing things the old way? I guess then an employee could still decide for themselves, by working for a remote company or one where everyone goes to the office.
