Kids being quiet vs those who cant...there's not really any "most of the time" to this is there? There's just the normal distribution of kid types theres always been.

Maybe the negative stories you hear about at home work...yeah for sure those would feature complaints about kids not staying quiet. But those are the stories that get told...nobody is going to get much attention talking about their regular 5-10 year old (who the law says needs supervision) who knows how to stay quiet while you work...it's not a very interesting story. Was common enough though I'd imagine for many people and freeing up that day care cost was a godsend.

And I'm pretty sure actually that yeah...the average company isn't going to let some stay home and others go into the office long term. I definitely have no proof that this won't happen... but anecdotal evidence from a few here thier companies are allowing it isn't proof it will happen either. "Most likely" is all I or anyone can say here. And knowing just how companies are... and how they won't really having enjoy separate rules etc for different employees this just doesn't seem likely.

I mean...it COULD happen if enough people push for it...or the ceo/leaders think it will work...or any other number of factors come into play. And I could eat these words definitely...but I just don't see this being what actually occurs in general.

So anyway...

Whats going on here is that we are all probably mostly in agreement? Let the ones who want to go, go...and let the ones who want to stay, stay.

Sure I dont understand the allure of going back to the office. And people talking about making friends, meeting girls or needing the social interaction...to me those all sound like negatives and reason I DONT want to go back... being around others who were there for that stuff.. My wording could be more understanding I guess...but ultimately I don't care if they go back and wanted to go back. I may not ever agree that thier reasons for wanting that are really great...but thats fine. I mean, they probably don't care much about my commute or childcare issues if they live close to the job or don't have kids...so we can all dismiss eachothers points we feel are valid... doesn't matter in the end I guess because it doesn't have any bearing on what event actually happens?

My original point of the thread was that the ones who don't want to go back should never be made to if they can do everything as or more effectively than they did from the office (which a lot of people are doing just fine)
