People who make the argument that tc does are out of touch. You realise there are governments out there literally committing genocide, or governments literally using advanced surveillance to hold up a police state? Ugandas capital is one of the most heavily CCTVd cities in Africa and the only reason thats in place is to quiet any political discourse.

There are governments all over the world who willingly exploit their resources without the general population barely getting a whiff of that money in terms of public infrastructure or services. Any dissidence is met with violence from the police or the army.

Which doesnt even begin to touch on the Chinese Communist Party who are sponsoring both of the above projects; gold/diamond mining in Zimbabwe and Kampalas facial recognition CCTV rollout. Both of which exploit authoritarian governments greed at the expense of the general population, not to mention are provided on extremely predatory terms by the Chinese government.

I get if tc is trying to limit this argument to just the United States, because claiming that the most disgusting politicians are republicans shows you are seriously and poorly out of touch and dont know shit about shit.

Even then, the whole left right bs you guys espouse is strange because Ive seen so many times when you guys will link to the same article (political or non-political) and you guys on the left will read it one way and you guys on the right will read it completely differently and youre at each others throats? Sorry but if youre using an inherent political bias to colour your assessment of an actual event where all facts are laid out and all facts go out the window when youre interpreting it then youre brainwashed.

If the government ever wanted to start a culture war it would be easy because theyve already got mfs willing to follow them not so much cause they love their side but cause they hate the other.
