Yeah, this. "Honorary degrees" are basically just universities deciding, "Hey, this person is cool, let's honor them with a degree." More often than not they've never even taken a class at the university they receive the degree from.

I also think there's nothing wrong with them but using the title when all you have is an honorary degree is very tacky. Maybe she's being ironic? I hope she is.
