A bakery that opened in the 1850s is now closing its doors for good, as today marks the last day that Loves Bakery will be in business. The institution, which has been in existence since before the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy, could not over overcome the COVID pandemic shutting down business and tourism, and with the second round of the PPP loan initially limited to small businesses and with no help from the State legislature, they finally folded under their financial obligations.
