Each day I'll select 10 random characters from the Nintendo wiki (using https://nintendo.fandom.com/wiki/Special:Random ), and whichever gets the most votes gets a slot on B8's Smash Bros. roster

• Special exception: If the random page lands me on a game that doesn't have a page for its characters, I'll just take the main character from that (or the closest thing I can find to a main character).
• Special exception #2: Sometimes RNG wants something that's not a character to be in the poll, and if that happens, so be it.
• Special condition #3: In the case of a tie, both characters will get in but the 2nd character will be an echo of the first.

Yesterday was a brutally tight race between three characters that didn't even originate from games, resulting in Wallace & Gromit holding a small lead, until Steve Austin and Popeye both caught up, bouncing between 1-point of each other. And, well, I wasn't exactly around at the end of day to see who won. As of writing this Austin has a 15-16-15 lead, which was about 14-13-14 last time I checked, and given that this is entirely for fun and not a serious competition by any means, I'm willing to call that a 3-way tie. Have fun with echoes!

Today on deck we have two Xenobladers, a Mario spinoff final boss, an obscure DK boss (who already lost badly earlier in the competition), a german Duck Hunt knockoff, the grooviest minigame master short of Rhythm Heaven, the first extra Mother rep since Melee, Goku (but not that one), a god, and a series of blocks that will almost definitely win.
