lightwarrior78 05/08/21 12:36:13 PM #24: | Gameplay wise it was fine. Glitches have been patched out and it isn't a chore to play. But it's another attempt to copy open world gameplay in way too small a set of settings, making it a lot of bitchwork and traveling the same few maps. Characters didn't wow me. They're fine, but I feel less engaged in their backsories while most real entertainment is in the casual travel conversation. I think they were written by people that thought the first game's elevators were the best part. Story is where it really flubs. The mission had gone sideways so that it seems this is a game with hard survuval at its core and hard decisions about resoirce allocation. That lasts a few hours until it seems like everyone is fed, not resentful of choices made, and getting along well. My choices should have been agonizing. Instead I felt like middle management making choices because others didn't want to. --- I'm not saying that less toxic gaming journalists would lead to less toxic gamers.
