| Topic | Did television die? |
| Zeus 05/12/21 8:53:16 PM #17: | jfc, Judg, how many times are you going to make this same topic? >_> Then you prop up streamers who get what, maybe tens of thousands of simultaneous viewers? Meanwhile shows that don't pull in several million viewers consistently get canceled. Judgmenl posted... Do new television shows even air anymore? Obviously. Judgmenl posted... I don't understand who these are marketed towards. Don't go full NMB on us. Never go full NMB. Judgmenl posted... Definitely not me Well, you're absurdly niche, given the hololive vtuber stuff you're into. shadowsword87 posted... Yeah, once streaming services figured out they can make their own content to make it exclusive, it was the final death toll. And yet the networks are still making shit, which they put on their own streaming platforms. Judgmenl posted... The problem is the streaming services don't have anything either. wtf? More seasons is a plus, not a minus. The worst part of picking up any new show is that it might not go the distance after you've become emotionally invested. shadowsword87 posted... I'm kind of happy that we don't have something lasting forever. I'm much more of a fan of going into different universes and figuring out how everything works, than being invested in the same people for 20 years straight. Depends on the show. There are certainly plenty of things I'd love to see go forever. Other things don't really make sense to eternally prolong. For example, GoT needed to end eventually. Sometimes like Smallville or Supernatural did not. Same for sitcoms, where most could run forever just like how soap operas can run forever. Far-Queue posted... Judg is encroaching on NiteMareBunny's territory lately In some ways it can be worse because he'll do the same thing multiple times. Judgmenl posted... "Yes but is any of the content actually good?" ...he says while watching shit like hololive vtubers. Judgmenl posted... "I would not consider anime being part of traditional western television." I mean, it only goes back 50-70 years in the west, so why would it be? >_> --- (\/)(\/)|-| There are precious few at ease / With moral ambiguities / So we act as though they don't exist. ...
