With Realm Reborn they were really focused on adding content to the game so they....bloated the Post RR story. Luckily for you they cut out a lot of the fat last year. Still a bunch of bullshit but there is some meat. They got a lot better at not bloating the main story after that Beating RR also unlocks a LOT of optional content.
