Ummmm... thinking back... no, lol. The levels look great and are fun to explore, but the meat of the game comes from grinding runs over and over like a roguelite. If you can get it on sale, maybe check it out if you just want to do the story mode, but alone I think it might not be worth the headache.

It's doable solo even on hard, though you're not supposed to start on hard. You're supposed to start on normal, and then increase it after 2 or so refreshes.

It's a fairly challenging game regardless, but becomes easier as you progress due to unlocking traits that increase your damage, critical damage, etc. You obtain traits via story progression or by getting lucky and getting a world spawn. Last I played it, even hard was a bit easy. Though they keep radically changing things, or least did.

It can be satisfying for what it is, but there's some absurdly difficult fights depending on your gear. Speaking of gear, don't go upgrading 1 thing pointlessly. Upgrade your preferred weapons and armor as evenly as possible, as an easy mistake is to raise your weapon to +8 asap for example, but your armor is +1. It causes enemies to force scale up and your armor becomes worthless.

Also tossing this in. It can be enjoyable, but gets a bit repetitive/predictable. The first few runs are interesting, especially when you regenerate the world and see how its layout changes.
Hmmm...maybe I'll wait. It's only on sale for 30 ATM
