Arguably worse, since it creates an incentive to design the game around the philosophy of maximizing income from the gold sales. This happened with Diablo 3: The original approach to loot strongly encouraged use of the RMAH because you'd get so much gear your class couldn't use and relatively little that it could. When it's a third party doing it, if anything, there's an incentive to ensure that RMT doesn't upset the game's balance too much, which is generally beneficial. There's going to be the harm of whales paying for unfair advantages either way, but at least the latter option incentivizes positive changes to the game. --- This is my signature.
