His take on PoW mining wasn't wrong, it pretty much is a bunch of computers playing pick a number. I know I can be a bit of an evangelist with it at times, but it's really just another tool. He is totally incorrect that various projects don't provide assets or services. It isn't something that is going to magically fix all the financial issues we have. In fact financial services is but one use case. Without hype or frills, Blockchain technology is an alternative to centralized servers and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. It has yet to reach true viability as a competitor due to scaling issues, but solutions to those issues are on the horizon (with bugs and delays I'm sure). I think it's always funny how people say the digital asset isn't "real" though. Like is an email not real too? or that digital game you bought? How much of your money is "real" when so many people just get direct deposit and use a card anyway? ... Copied to Clipboard! |
