I also believe you're telling the truth. Your brain would focus different if you're driving or riding, so it's very plausible Its actually reasonable. Being in the driver seat changes your positioning and can affect how turns and stuff pass through your body that might trigger that car sickness in other seats but being more in the "focal" point I guess lessens the forces you experience. I can take a sharp turn while driving and feel next to nothing but passengers, it'd be a different story --- The name is wackyteen for a reason.
