Probably not because of their deep understanding of the movie's messages, but more because the hero spent the whole movie pining over her and thus "should" have ended up with her by twisted romcom logic (See certain people's reactions to 500 Days of Summer...). You can tell this was clearly the original ending, too, it's not only extended but all of the supporting cast reappear briefly for a parting word.Well, and it's also totally different from the comic's ending so it would upset existing fans too. I love the movie but the Knives ending only kind of works in the movie because it rushes through the plot so much there's barely any moments for a viewer to see why Ramona and Scott enjoy dating each other. --- ...
